WHAT WE’LL NEED

The Vice President of Litigation and Risk Management plays a critical role in ensuring that Wingstop operates within legal boundaries while mitigating potential risks.

This position requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in litigation management, risk assessment, and compliance.

Responsibilities :

Litigation Management : Develop and implement strategies to effectively manage litigation matters across the organization.

Monitor legal trends and developments to anticipate potential litigation risks and advise senior management accordingly.Oversee the budgeting and allocation of resources for litigation matters, ensuring cost-effective management.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation : Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential legal, regulatory, operational, and reputational risks.

Develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans to minimize exposure and safeguard the organization's interests.Establish and maintain effective risk management policies, procedures, and controls throughout the organization.

Provide guidance and support to business units on risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies.

Compliance Oversight : Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards by monitoring regulatory developments and implementing compliance programs.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess compliance risks and develop strategies to address gaps.Conduct regular audits and reviews to evaluate compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Provide training and educational resources to employees to promote a culture of compliance and ethical conduct.

Legal Strategy and Advice : Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to senior management on complex legal and regulatory issues affecting the organization.

Assess the legal implications of business decisions and transactions and recommend courses of action to mitigate risks.Participate in strategic planning processes to ensure legal considerations are integrated into organizational objectives and initiatives.

Stakeholder Management : Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management, legal teams, and business units.

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on legal and risk management matters, providing timely and accurate advice and recommendations.

Represent the organization externally with regulatory agencies, legal partners, and industry associations.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Bar Association.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in litigation management, risk management, and compliance, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to litigation, risk management, and compliance.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex litigation matters and mitigating legal and operational risks.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate future challenges and opportunities.
