PATIENT CARE TECH

Texas NeuroRehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on wooded acres. We have served the Austin community for over -years and are proud of our history and tenured leadership team.

Texas NeuroRehab Center provides complex medical and brain injury rehab for ages years and older and neurobehavioral residential treatment services for children and adolescents.

The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges.

Texas NeuroRehab Center is currently accepting applicants for a Patient Care Technician. Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) the patient care technician (PCT) provides services related to activities of daily living.

The PCT assists the nursing staff in accordance with facility policies and procedures. The PCT assists in maintaining a well organized, clean, and adequately stocked unit.

Qualifications

The following are the job requirements for the Patient Care Technician position :

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES : Demonstrates understanding of Texas NeuroRehab Center's safety initiatives by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures.

Works autonomously and with supervision. Interfaces with the public, physicians, staff, patients, and administration and ancillary / support department representatives.

Maintains confidentiality of patient medical records. Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients.

EDUCATION : Required : High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred : bachelor's degree or college courses in health care, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human growth and development

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION : Required : Current Driver's licenses or State issued ID. BLS certification.

PHYSICAL / GENERAL REQUIREMENTS : Able to lift and carry pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to pounds.

Able to physically restrain patients by individual or team restraint per policy. Able to sit and / or stand for extended periods of time.

Able to use a computer and / or write for extended periods of time. Hearing, vision, and emotional stability sufficient to perform essential job functions.

Able to communicate in writing and verbally and to speak clearly such that others can understand. Able to use the phone for extended periods of time.
