Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring Phase I, Pre-Op, and Phase II experience and an active IL RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within a hospital surgical / OR setting
  • Duties include Phase I PACU, Pre-Op, and Phase II patient care
  • Four 10-hour day shifts weekly, Monday through Friday with variable start and end times
  • Weekend and holiday on-call coverage required as part of a rotation
  • Potential for night call coverage if night shift calls in (Monday–Thursday)
  • No guaranteed call shifts but participation in on-call pool expected
  • Responsibilities include recovery of post-operative patients across all surgical specialties
  • Must be able to provide age-appropriate care and emergency interventions as needed
  • Participation in rotating holiday coverage required
  • Candidate must be flexible with shift variations and on-call demands

    • Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license required
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
  • Experience in PACU Phase I, Pre-Op, and Phase II required
