Overview : Under the direct supervision of the Section Manager, the Sleep Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnography recordings (Sleep, EEG and long term EEG) with guidance from our Medical Director, physician orders and department policies and procedures.
This includes but not limited to : operating sleep recording equipment, cleaning equipment, making beds. Teaching / explaining procedure to patients as well as helping them to bedrooms, in and out of bed, chairs and restroom.
Performs office maintenance related functions such as placing and receiving phone calls, charting and filing, light cleaning and stocking.
Qualifications : Education : Candidate must be a high school graduate. Certifications : Must be credentialed in polysomnography by a recognized credentialing agency and must maintain credentials by meeting requirements ie : CEUs / yr Other : Ability to use business computer applications such as MS Word and Excel.
Preferred Education : Two years collage in health related sciences. Preferred Licensure : Licensure in respiratory care, nursing or electrodiagnostics.
Preferred Experience : Two years working in Accredited Sleep disorders Facility. Preferred Certifications : Certification in additional allied healthcare fields EEG, Respiratory, Nursing.
Preferred Other : Advanced computer experience with Multiple sleep applications and equipment. Ability to use business computer applications such as MS Word and Excel.
