Setting : Medical Surgical Unit (Med / Surg) Employment Type : Locum Tenens / Travel Nurse Contract Contract Duration : 13 weeks Start Date : October 13, 2025 End Date : January 12, 2026 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1570 - $1610 Shift : Night Shift, 4x12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00 – 07 : 00), including weekdays, holidays, and every other weekend Patient Ratio : 1 : 5-6 Orientation : 16 hours (includes online modules) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active WV or Compact RN license (pending license considered) Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg RN experience Travel nursing experience preferred ER nursing experience preferred BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association required) Proficiency in medication administration and IV drips Experience with electronic charting systems 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions with documentation considered) Permanent address must be over 100 miles from facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case) Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 15-bed Medical Surgical unit Manage a patient ratio of 1 : 5-6, caring for diagnoses such as COPD exacerbation, sepsis, AMS, dementia, pneumonia, and more Administer medications, manage IV drips, perform wound care, and tracheostomy management Assist with central line care, including caps, flushes, and dressings Operate equipment including CPAP / BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and IV insulin protocols Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy) Maintain accurate documentation and electronic charting Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols Discover rewarding West Virginia nursing jobs and make a difference in a community hospital setting.
