Team Leader / Janitor
Hourly Non-Exempt
Reports to :
Area Supervisor and Executive Director
Summary of Job Duties & Responsibilities :
A team leader is a professional in charge of guiding, monitoring, and leading an entire team. Team Leaders are responsible for motivating their team to work together and set goals through positive communication. They will also :
- Assist Area Supervisor in the overseeing of daily work as it pertains to your work crew.
- Meets with team to discuss tasks they need to complete and goal setting.
- Advises team members as directed by the Area Supervisor.
- Make recommendations to the Area Supervisor concerning issues, counseling, or recognition of a team member.
- Must know, follow, and enforce all company policies and procedures.
- All Time Off Requests must be approved by the Area Supervisor and requested in a timely manner.
- Approach to team members must be of a coaching nature and not as a bully.
- Performs custodial work in offices, warehouses, industrial areas, and other building interiors and exteriors. Inspect teams work at the end of the shift to ensure all work is done according to the SOW of the job site.
Typical tasks performed include a combination of the following :
- Sanitizing restrooms.
- Empties trash.
- Sweeps.
- Vacuums.
- Mops.
- Scrubs.
- Vacuum cleans and spot cleans carpets.
- Spot clean walls.
- Dust all furniture desk tops.
- Polishes all stainless-steel fixtures.
- Dust all blinds.
- Dust all cabinets, partitions.
- May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, walls, upholstery and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
- May also sweep walks, check the log book daily for customer concerns, and report back to the customers that the concern was taken care of.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Ability to handle difficult situations and persons in a positive and professional manner.
- Checking log book nightly.
- Promptly handling any complaints.
- Ensuring that team members have been trained properly using the scope of work.
- Inspecting the cleanliness of the facility at the end of each shift.
- Organize / order supplies / report any equipment problems making sure that all vacuum bags are emptied each night.
