Society Insurance is seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join our Illinois team. This position will develop and maintain a profitable book of business consisting of primarily small-business accounts by acquiring, evaluating, and analyzing information relative to risks to making selection and pricing.   This book will include in part underwriting :  bars, restaurants, breweries / wineries, food manufacturing, habitational, grocery, auto repair, lessors risk, retail, wholesale, and more!

About the Role

• Acquires, evaluates, and analyzes information relative to risk to make selection and pricing decisions.
• Evaluates renewal and new business accounts for acceptability.
• Will have sole responsibility for agencies as assigned according to territory needs.
• Builds and maintains positive professional relationships with agents and Regional Sales Managers.
• Analyzes risk control surveys; identifies opportunities to maximize profitability; and mitigates risks and exposures.
• Provides training and mentorship to team members.
