Overview : Join our dedicated healthcare team in Victorville, CA, where we specialize in providing exceptional hemodialysis services to patients with renal failure or chronic kidney disease.
As a Hemodialysis RN, you will play a crucial role in delivering specialized nursing care, ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our patients undergoing hemodialysis treatments.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct thorough pre-dialysis assessments, including reviewing medical history and assessing vital signs.
- Set up and prepare dialysis equipment according to established protocols and patient prescriptions.
- Monitor patients throughout hemodialysis treatments, assessing vital signs and responding promptly to any complications or changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications as prescribed by nephrologists and monitor their effects during dialysis sessions.
- Educate patients and their families on dialysis procedures, renal disease management, and dietary restrictions.
- Collaborate closely with nephrology team members, including nephrologists, dialysis technicians, and dietitians, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized dialysis environment, adhering strictly to infection control and safety protocols.
Qualifications :
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
- Certification in Nephrology Nursing (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in hemodialysis nursing; experience with acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease patients preferred.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting dialysis equipment.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate patients and their families on complex medical procedures and conditions.
