Job Description
As a Gilead intern you will contribute to high-impact meaningful projects that will not only further advance our company's mission but will allow you to gain real world experience at one of the most innovative organizations in the world.
You will also have opportunities to participate in special events including professional development and leadership presentations, social / network building activities and local community volunteer programs.
Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following : Collaborate with Software development team to design and improve our software productsCreate prototypes and mockups that illustrate design concepts and solutionsHelp us deliver a consistent user experience across productsConduct user research & testing to gather feedback and insightsMaintain design documentation and ensure consistency across productsShowcase your work with a final poster board presentation near the conclusion of your internshipRequired Qualifications :
Must be at least 18 years oldMust have a minimum GPA of 2.8Authorized to work in the United States without Sponsorship now or in the future or CPT / OPT through your University.
Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. based university or college and enrolled in the fall semester after the completion of the internshipMust be a Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in undergrad or enrolled in an advanced degree program.
Must be able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between May and AugustMust be able to relocate if necessary and work at the designated site for the duration of the internshipPreferred Qualifications
Any previous molecular biology experience desired (e.g. PCR, in-vitro transcription, in-vitro and / or in-cellulo CRISPR)Must be detail-oriented, well organized, and have strong communication skillsExcellent teamwork skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environmentWilling to ask questions during any experimental troubleshooting that may arise.
Proficiency with MS Office SuiteAbility to identify issues and seek solutionsAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyDemonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity in the workplaceEfficient, organized, and able to handle short timelines in a fast-paced environmentPursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields of study.
Possess an online portfolio or PDF that showcases previous design work and projectsProficiency in design tools such as FigmaAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentGilead Core Values :

The expected hourly range for this position is $19.00 - $55.00.
Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including education level and geographic location.
These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
