About The Role

As the Director of Operations, you will lead our manufacturing operations , delivering carbon neutral light metal made from seawater to our customers .

You will oversee all aspects of our production operations team, including building up a world-class facilities, maintenance, and EH&S program at Magrathea .

Our Director of Operations will be one of the most critical leaders in the entire company for ensuring we can execute on our ambitious timelines wi th high capital efficiency .

Role Expectations

  • Build asset care and maintenance processes, ensuring process performance and reliability, including initiating and managing minor CAPEX and revenue engineering projects to provide safe, reliable , and cost-effective operations.
  • Develop and implement operational excellence ; environment, health and safety ; and facilities policies and procedures for the efficient operation of our facilities.
  • Develop and define clear scopes of work for outsourced contractors, ensuring all external work meets our standards and contributes to our operational goals.
  • Lead a team of R&D technicians and operators who are responsible for operating, monitoring, and improving Magrathea’s existing pilot, maintaining collaboration with the Director of Engineering and Director of Technology to achieve our technology goals.
  • Plan and oversee facilities as needed to accommodate growth ; including coordinating and overseeing maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of equipment and infrastructure and leading procurement.

Ideal Background

  • Minimum 5 years practical experience in a similar manufacturing or industrial role, either in large-scale or start-up production.
  • Strong knowledge of facility operations, maintenance best practices, and safety regulations in California.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred : University degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.

Compensation

  • Salary range : $120-$170k annually (commensurate with experience)
