Summary :
Provides care and coordinates the delivery of oncology treatments, often in intensive care conditions, to assigned patients in a medical oncology facility.
Supervises and provides nursing care to cancer patients. Monitors patient's condition, develops care plans, and symptom management protocols, and administers medication.
Education :
Minimum Education and / or : Graduate of an accredited nursing school (AD in Nursing, RN Diploma, or BSN); or if attended an approved nursing school must have two years of recent acute care hospital experience in the past three years.
Experience :
One to two years’ experience required.
Credentials :
- Registered Nurse
- BLS and ACLS through AHA or Red Cross
- ONS Certification required.
