Location : Middlebury, VT 05753 (Addison County, Vermont)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2610 - $2800

Assignment Length : Up to 25 weeks

Start Date : December 8, 2025

Shift : 10-hour day shifts (Monday–Friday, 6 : 30am–5 : 00pm), rotating weekly and weekend call

Hours per Week : 40

Holiday Requirement : Work 2 out of 4 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day)

Patient Age Range : 0–99 years

Unit : Surgical Services – Operating Room (Ortho, General, ENT, Urology, Podiatry, Ophthalmology, OBGYN, Endoscopy)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Vermont or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience

Prior travel nursing experience required

Experience with C-sections required

Ability to circulate; scrub nurse experience highly preferred

Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications

EPIC documentation experience within the past 2 years (required)

Reliable personal or rental vehicle (no public transportation available)

Vehicles must have all-season or snow tires November–April (Vermont nursing jobs winter requirement)

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver perioperative nursing care in a 2-OR, 1 procedure room, and endoscopy suite

Circulate and / or scrub for surgical specialties : ortho, general, ENT, urology, podiatry, ophthalmology, OBGYN, and endoscopy

Assist with C-sections and specialized surgical procedures

Document patient care using EPIC; manage medications with Pyxis

Respond to rotating weekly and weekend call (20-minute call back requirement)

Collaborate with anesthesia and respiratory support teams (available 24 / 7)

Maintain patient safety and deliver high-quality care for all age groups

Follow hospital protocols for infection control and patient confidentiality
