Department Overview
Technology Delivery Services (TDS) is part of the Information Technology (IT) Department. We maintain an innovative, inclusive, and supportive work environment.
Position Summary
Support UCOP data network and services including data centers, AWS cloud network services, wide area / metro area / local area networks.
The incumbent manages operational reliability and performance of existing networks and resolves any network service interruptions.
This position works as part of a Network Engineering group and may require travel outside of normal business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced knowledge of Network and Security operations, systems, and functions, including planning, design, development, implementation, user support, and training.
- Resolve technical challenges utilizing interpersonal leadership skills.
- Research, recommend, and design large and complex institution-wide adoptions, deployments, and technology transitions.
- Act as the IT point of contact for questions, Network and Security support, and system maintenance.
Experience
Required Qualifications
Min 8 years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise LAN / WAN / WLAN networks.
Skills and Abilities
Required Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of professional communications and network systems.
- Highly developed problem-solving skills.
- Advanced understanding of OSI layer 2 and 3, IP / TCP protocols.
- Ability to design and deploy network-related configurations in AWS.
Education
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

5% occasional travel
