Job Summary and Qualifications
What You Will Do In This Role :
- PPS / PAI data and transmitting that data to CMS. This includes assisting / assuring all disciplines maintain current educational requirements to maintain regulatory compliance.
- PAI Coordinator is also responsible for patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Medical City.
- In collaboration with the medical staff, patients, patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the PAI Coordinator is responsible for utilizing a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to coordinate the care of all patients.
- In addition, the Coordinator may also be responsible for assessing nursing needs of patients (and in collaboration with Rehabilitation Services), planning interventions and evaluating outcomes of care.
- The PAI Coordinator may also provide direct care within their scope and practice and delegate / collaborate care with other disciplines and non-licensed staff as it relates to the outcome and care of the inpatient rehabilitation patient.
- PAI Coordinator may assist Admission Coordinator as necessary to increase efficiency of the unit.
What Qualifications You Will Need :
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Current Texas licensure / certification BS minimum in current field of study (nursing, physical therapy, Speech therapy or occupational therapy)
- Registered Occupational Therapist (ROT), or Occupational Therapy (OT), or Licensed Physical Therapist, or Speech Pathologist, or Registered Nurse
- Clinical experience in the care and management of the Inpatient Rehabilitation patient
- Minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience in inpatient rehab preferred and 1 year experience coordinating Prospective Payment System (PPS) and the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility-Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI)
- Pass the licensed personnel FIM exam using the UDSMR Online Credentialing System within 60 days of hire and again as necessary to maintain the facilities UDS-PRO credential
- Advanced certification preferred
