An established plaintiff's personal injury law firm seeks a full-time paralegal to join its fast-paced and collaborative team.
The paralegal will provide support in all aspects of file handling for senior attorneys and paralegals.
This position is on-site 5 days per week in New Brunswick, NJ.
Responsibilities :
- Managing calendars, meetings, depositions and court appearances
- Preparing legal documents, correspondence, and filings
- Document management, with emphasis on medical records
- Communicating with clients, witnesses, experts, opposing counsel and court personnel
- Working with all aspects of case management systems
- Corresponding with government agencies to collect relevant discovery
Qualifications :
- 3+ years' experience as a personal injury paralegal or legal secretary
- Knowledge of New Jersey court system (e-filing)
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook and Excel
- Experience with legal software; Clio experience is a plus
- Attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to prioritize assignments and resolve client issues within a timely manner
- Experience with medical billing and / or PIP is helpful but not required
