If so, we are looking for someone like you to join our team at APL. We are seeking a Software Engineer to help us perform full lifecycle development and rapid prototyping of pioneering autonomous maritime systems.

You will join a hardworking team of engineers who cultivate an energetic agile-concept development environment developing analysis tools, visualization, and maritime sensor software for the Navy's emerging uncrewed systems fleet.

As a Software Engineer for our Autonomy Test and Evaluation Section... Your primary responsibility will be to perform software engineering to provide analysis of autonomous platform performance.

This is to include requirements development, object-oriented design, agile software development, laboratory system integration and testing, and field testing.

You will install and configure mission-critical vehicle systems. This includes unique opportunities to ride US Navy ships in support of system sea trials and crew training.

You will propose and develop innovative ways to apply cutting-edge technologies to extend the capabilities and performance of existing naval systems.

You will document software development activities and test results. Prepare for and conduct periodic design reviews, as well as, technical reports and other briefing materials for presentation to sponsors.

Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you... Have a B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field Have 5+ years of relevant experience working in software engineering with Python, C#, or JavaScript Are highly skilled in a breadth of software development knowledge Experience effectively communicating with all levels of staff and clients Are able to obtain Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Top Secret level clearance.

If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information.

Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship. Are willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time Can be medically cleared and capable for work and travel on Navy ships and submarines in order to support at-sea testing and evaluation You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you.

Have a M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering Have 7 or more years of experience working with software development, and in distributed systems development Have experience with SQL databases Have experience performing full stack development Why Work at APL?
