Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg unit with a focus on orthopedics and total joint replacements, requiring a current IA or compact RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is on a 34-bed Med / Surg unit with a primary orthopedic and total joint replacement patient population
  • Day shift nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5, night shift ratio is 1 : 6
  • Cardiac medication drips may be administered
  • Epic EMR system is used
  • Traveler must float across all campuses as needed
  • Navy blue solid scrubs are required
  • First time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Locals are accepted within 50 miles of the facility
  • Holiday coverage is required for 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving)
  • Only one day off may be requested between 11 / 26-11 / 30 and 12 / 23-1 / 2
  • Returning employees who have worked at the facility within the past 12 months may not be eligible

  • Active IA or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years recent Med / Surg experience in a hospital setting required
  • Ortho and rehab experience including total joints and braces encouraged
  • Experience with Epic EMR preferred
  • One supervisory reference from within the last 2 years is required
