About the Opportunity

The web developer is responsible for building and maintaining the Argen website using Ruby code to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

Ensures that the site operates correctly, tests and implements changes, and troubleshoots coding issues.

In this role, the successful candidate will :

  • Designs, builds, and maintains efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code.
  • Participates in daily standups, iteration planning meetings, retrospectives and code reviews.
  • Integrates data storage solutions.
  • Integrates user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic.
  • Identifies bottlenecks and bugs and devises solutions to these problems.
  • Helps maintain code quality, organization and atomization.
  • Develops and maintains a test suite.
  • Directs and performs website updates.
  • Develops and validates test routines and schedules to ensure that tests cases mimic external interfaces and address all browser and device types.
  • Remains current on the latest Web applications and programming practices through education, study, and participation in conferences, workshops, and groups.
  • Identifies problems uncovered by customer feedback and testing and makes adjustments.
  • Evaluates code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.
  • Consistently meets task deadlines while maintaining high quality deliverables.
  • Adheres to work instructions as needed.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and establishes open communication with supervisor and manager.
  • Ensures that all company safety rules are followed.
  • Makes recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What does it take to be successful?

  • Bachelor of Science degree with Computer Science, Information Technology or related combination of experience and education required.
  • Minimum of three years of full stack coding experience, preferably in Rails.
  • Three plus years of agile development experience.
  • Strong understanding of REST and SOAP.
  • Knowledge of react and redux preferred.
  • Experience with SDLC processes preferred.
  • Familiarity with programs including Rspec and minitest.
  • Able to use CSS and Javascript.
  • Experience using and deploying to AWS.
  • Working knowledge of Linux.
  • Ability to learn technical concepts by reading work instructions and standard operating procedures, and completing on-the-job training.
  • Knowledge of cGMP regulations ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, CMDR SOR / 98-282, 93 / 42 / EEC, RDC 16 2013, MHLW MO 169 and TG(MD)R Sch3 preferred.
