Job Title : Histopathology Technician

Job Description :
We are seeking a Histopathology Technician to join our team starting November 4, 2024 . The successful candidate will perform a variety of laboratory procedures in accordance with established protocols.
Key Responsibilities :
- Accession and receive samples into the laboratory information system for in-house testing or reference laboratory send-outs.
- Prepare specimens for analysis while maintaining their physiologic properties.
- Edit and verify results recorded in the computer system.
- Stock and maintain specialized supplies used in the work area.
- Perform a full range of laboratory procedures in Cytology and Surgical Pathology.
- Calibrate, standardize, adjust, and maintain laboratory instruments, verifying correct operation through quality control checks.
- Conduct quality control procedures and maintain records for quality control reports.
- Communicate with clinics and providers regarding specimen adequacy and other issues.
- Participate in VISN technical committees for Cytology and Anatomic Pathology (AP).
- Develop partnerships with local funeral homes and monitor compliance with onsite morgue.
- Responsible for record management and compliance in the Histology department.
- Perform Frozen sections as required and monitor temperature compliance in histology areas.
Requirements :
- Copy of Histopathology certification (as applicable).
- Minimum one year of experience in a similar role
Shifts :
- Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. 4 : 30 p.m.
- No overtime and no holidays.
