Come join a great team at State Hospital West (SHW)! We are seeking Registered Nurses at SHW located in Nampa. SHW is a 16-bed Adolescent Psychiatric Treatment Hospital (for adolescents between 11 and 18 years old) nestled between Ridgecrest and Centennial golf courses on a picturesque piece of state property along the Nampa Interstate 84 corridor.

SHW provides psychiatric inpatient treatment care for Idaho's adolescent citizens with the most serious and persistent mental illnesses.

The hospital works in partnership with families and communities to enable clients to return to community living and is accredited by The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations and certified by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

This position also requires applicants to become certified in CPR and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. Employees will be required to work weekends, holidays, and day shifts.

In addition, successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal history background investigation. Employment is dependent upon satisfactory results of the investigation.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES :

• Skilling nursing services in a hospital setting requiring independent clinical judgement.
• Provide preventative, primary, secondary, and tertiary nursing.
• Assess physical and psychosocial health.
• Instruct and counsel patients, families, and / or caregivers in disease process, self-care, and health promotion techniques.
• Develop plans of care.
• Provide case management.
• Identify, consult, and coordinate with community resources pertaining to health, social, and financial services.
• Refer clients to community resources.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Requires current licensure as a Registered Nurse or state licensure as a Registered Nurse pursuant to the Nurse Licensure Compact, Idaho Code 54-1418.
