Position Scope :
The Class A CDL Hazmat Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting hazardous materials to job sites, performing safety inspections on equipment, and maintaining all necessary paperwork in compliance with regulations.
This position requires overnight travel and may involve working in adverse weather conditions.
Primary Duties :
- Load and unload tanker with hazardous materials
- Operate bulk tanker trucks in compliance with Company and DOT regulations
- Transport load over required route, observing traffic laws and safety regulations
- Complete and transmit all paperwork in compliance with established procedures
- Perform safety inspections on trucks, equipment, and facilities
- Maintain miscellaneous service duties such as checking oil, water, fuel, tires, and tank related items
- Report equipment malfunctions or concerns
- Read and review permit for route and safety provisions
- Assist with equipment setup and tear down at job sites
- Comply with all DOT and company safety standards
Background :
- At least 21 years old
- Speaks, reads, understands, and writes in English
- Valid Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements
- Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
- M.S.H.A. 5000-23 certificate or willingness to obtain certification
- Pass pre-employment drug test and federal background check
- Acceptable MVR in accordance with company's policy
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and operate equipment on rough terrains
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
