- Consults on special patient cases where a need for PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter) Line placement and instruction has been identified.
- Establishes a treatment plan for patients and their families to follow. -Serves as a resource person for medical and hospital staff regarding PICC placement and education.
- Consults with healthcare team on complication management. -Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. -Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments;
notes all changes in physician order on assigned patients. -Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. -Observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary.
- Interacts with family and patient regarding care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge. -Informs patient and family of hospital procedures.
- Makes referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Schedule 9hour Shifts Per week. Mon-Sat 8am-5pm. Must be able to work holidays.
Preferred Skills & Experience : -Two (2) year experience with Pediatric PICC Line placement, VA-BC (Vascular Access-Board Certified) preferred.
Must be able to work in a team environment.Skills : Required Skills & Experience : -One year of experience-Must have current knowledge of nursing role in PICC Line placement.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures. -Ability to organize, plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees. -Good verbal and written communication skills. -Some computer skills.

Successful completion of Vascular Access Device Selection, Insertion and Management online course offered by Bard Access Systems within six months of hire.
Preferred Education : -Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program. Required Certifications & Licensure : -Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. -Require Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association certification when caring for the pediatric patient population.
