About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Job Specialty : Medical Surgical Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day / Night Rotating Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 1 year recent Medical Surgical experience License : Active RN license in a Compact State Certifications : BLS (must be from the American Heart Association) Must-Have : Experience with larger hospitals (200 beds minimum) and level 2 or higher trauma centers, EPIC experience Job Description : - Provide general nursing care to medical surgical patients.
- Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.- Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise.
- Utilize appropriate age and population-specific standards in the assigned clinical setting.- Operate and manage medical equipment such as EMR-Epic, AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Phillips monitors, and Telemetry.
- Work 12-hour shifts with a requirement to work every other weekend and holiday.- Float to different medical surgical units across three campuses as needed.
- Participate in unit-specific training and orientation : 1 day of lead center training followed by 2-12 hour shifts on the unit with a preceptor.
- Adhere to a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5 : 1 during day shifts and 6 : 1 during night shifts.- Wear navy blue scrubs as part of the dress code.
- Cannot accept travelers who live within 60 miles of the facility; those living 61 to 80 miles may be considered at a local rate.
