Principal Packaging Engineer

Create, deploy and maintain standards for filling and packing lines, provide technical assistance on design and specifications of new lines, deliver functional training to the operating factories.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop standards for filling & packaging machines and units according to LEAN and TPM principles and in line with Nestle Standards and Guidelines.
Responsible for promoting the packaging equipment standards for the defined technology platform
Continuously improve / optimize current product, packaging, and processes within factories and external manufacturers according to local business needs and supply situation and / or implementation of initiatives.
Develop, approve, maintain, and sustain the product, packaging, and process standards and specifications
- Establish packaging machine specifications and evaluate supplier technical data and capability. Deliver Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) evaluation and complete line design engineering (V-Graph, simulation) to optimize performance KPI's such as OEE, MTBF, MTTR, vertical start up, 'one digit' changeover (SMED)
- Drive the achievement of the company's packaging sustainability targets and commitments. Regularly update and ensure adherence to the roadmap.
- Ensure Packaging Competence support the Innovation & Renovation process, maintaining links for new products & technologies with Businesses, NPTCs, R&Ds, Corporate Units, and protecting / developing / deploying technological know-how
Experience and Education Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Packaging, Mechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial, electronic or Automation.
- 5+ years of experience in Filling & Packing or machine manufacturing
- Good understanding of the CAPEX process
- Good understanding of TPM & LEAN methodologies
- Good understanding of quality (HACCP), engineering and manufacturing systems as well as supply chain and HR processes
