Position Summary

As a Summer 2025 Intern, you will learn and contribute to a global organization, build a robust network, demonstrate leadership skills, and have some fun along the way.
Reporting to the the North American Head of Learning & Development, the 2025 Summer Intern : Human Resources (Process & Technology) will work closely with senior leaders within ofi and learn about the employee onboarding process, determine why onboarding programs are important and support the enhancement of the onboarding program to enable assimilation of new employees into the organization.
The ideal candidate should enjoy learning about HR processes and technology. A good fit would be an individual with proficient skills in project management, a strong understanding of HR principles, exceptional attention to details, and the ability to communication effectively with various stakeholders.
As an HR Intern, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of customer and third party relationships, workplace culture management, cross-functional process-building, and corporate responsibility.

This internship will provide an opportunity to work in innovation for a global food company and develop an understanding of the components and processes that contribute to onboarding new employees as well as process optimization.
Position Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive review of the existing onboarding process to identify areas for improvement to increase onboarding experience for new employees
- Work collaboratively with HR mentors to develop new and enhanced process.
- Partner with HR leaders to map the RACI for the program and intended outcome.
- Update onboarding presentation with inputs from senior leaders.
- Work closely with functional teams and leaders to collect process data and perform analysis to identify areas that can be made more efficient and effective
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to review process performance and implement improvements i.e., IT team to fix process gaps
Position Requirements
Currently enrolled in an accredited BS or MS degree program, and majoring in Human Resources, Sociology or Psychology, Communication, Business Administration, Communications, Economics or other related program.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Must have great attention to detail.
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Excellent communication skills
The pay for this role in the city of Chicago is $22 / hour and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.
