The Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC) was established in 1974 to better respond to the County's need for affordable housing.
HOC is authorized to acquire, own, lease, and operate housing; to provide for the construction or renovation of housing;
obtain financial assistance from any public or private source to assist its housing activities; and arrange for social services, resident services, and daycare.
Job Description :
HOC is seeking a Temporary Case manager who will provide Case Management Services / Coaching to fathers participating in the Fatherhood Initiative Program.
The case manager will provide resources and referrals, assisting fathers in matriculating through the steps of the Fatherhood Initiative Program.
The temporary Case Managers will handle an average caseload of 40 participants per month.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience :
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with the targeted population (homeless and have disabilities, which include mental illness, substance use disorders, medical conditions, and cognitive impairments preferred).
- Experience with crisis intervention.
Education :
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and the Housing First model.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and with a team, collaborating with other HOC Divisions and community partners.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
