Position Overview :
GW Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cardiac Cath Lab RN to join our specialized team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and other interventional cardiac procedures.
This role involves working closely with cardiologists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the cardiac catheterization lab.
- Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization and other interventional procedures.
- Monitor patient conditions before, during, and after procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Administer medications, including sedatives and anticoagulants, as needed.
- Prepare and maintain sterile environments and equipment.
- Educate patients and their families about procedures, potential risks, and post-procedure care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Washington, D.C. or DC eligible
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in a cardiac cath lab or a related cardiac care setting.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
