Established, highly reputable, underground construction contractor, specializing in directional drilling has an opportunity for you contribute to the strategic development of this organization.

Reporting to the CEO, the chief operations manager will be responsible for supervising the operations staff, overseeing all operational processes, and ensuring projects are completed timely, efficiently, and smoothly, while additionally adhering to company standards and guidelines.
If you have industry and operational management experience, can multi-task and wear several hats, and have proven experience managing personnel, you may qualify for this position.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
Establish guidelines, policies, and procedures to be followed by company personnel and to ensure that these policies and procedures are adhered to.
Visit job sites weekly to ensure projects are projects are running smoothly.
Conduct safety meetings regularly and ensure compliance with compliance with OSHA and CAL-OSHA
Make note of any incidents / accidents should they occur, compile relevant information and track investigations.
Directly oversee the work of subordinates, including Superintendents, Equipment & Fleet Manager, Mud Plant; and
Attend and participate in all management, company, and project related meetings,
Contribute to the development of a realistic profit plan (budget) for each year.
Verify timecard dailies regularly and manage Workman’s Compensation claims.
Ensure that basic project supplies (conduit, risers, sand, etc.), are never out of stock.
Assist in the interview / selection process of operations personnel.
Produce financial information and reports for CEO and CFO, and other managers as appropriate (plus monthly Variance Report, with segmented portions distributed to accountable personnel)
Maintain cooperative relationships with customers, suppliers, and fellow employees.
Directly oversee the work of subordinates, including superintendents, equipment & fleet manager.
Monitor all overhead line items, researching and recommending redress of any significant (i.e., initially 20% or more) variances; and
Support the notion that the customer is always our first priority, and that each employee is here to support that priority.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Administration preferred. High School Graduate or G.E.D. with commensurate experience may be considered.
Valid California Driver’s license (with own transportation) Class A California License Preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Operations Management.
Strong and proven managerial experience.
The ability to show sound judgement and tact when dealing with employees, customers, and suppliers, to achieve company objectives.
