The Clinical Liaison Nurse is responsible for monitoring and coordinating patient
care to assure an organized multidisciplinary approach through the following activities :
Qualifications :
- Interprets, supports, and practices the mission and philosophy of the hospital and Department / Services.
- Supervises the staff in the Emergency Department in the absence of the Manager / Director.
- Assist with the functions of interviewing, scheduling, performance appraisals and makes recommendations
concerning hiring, disciplining and terminating as appropriate.
- Plans appropriate staffing practices by maximizing the utilization of resources.
- Forecasts and anticipates the personnel needs of unit with regard to fluctuations in the patient workload.
- Functions as a clinical role model and serves as patient / family advocate.
- Assist the nursing staff to solve patient care problems.
- Assist the nursing staff in the development of decision-making skills in clinical situations.
- Identifies learning needs of the nursing staff while in the clinical practice setting.
Consults with Nursing Administration & Nursing Education regarding educational requirements of
nursing staff Participates in the evaluation of patient care through quality assurance / performance
improvement activities.
Works closely with hospital administrative, department heads and physician staff in order to better
coordinate all aspects of patient care.
Requirements :
- BSN required; MSN preferred; CEN preferred.
- Current NY State RN License required.
- Current BLS & ACLS required.
- Five years progressive nursing experience with a minimum of two years of
Emergency / Critical Care exp required.
Prior teaching experience preferred
TNCC must be obtain at 6 months of employment
Salary Range : $125,000.00 - $130,000.00
