Overview

The golf operation at Meadowbrook Country Club is hiring a full-time Assistant Professional position. We're looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual who is passionate about the game of golf and serving people through the game.

Our team is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive and team-centered culture to provide excellent service levels but also so our individuals grow in their skill set and advance in our industry.

Full-time golf staff members receive one weekend off per month. Golf staff members work five days a week (or less) from October through March.

In-season, the full-time staff members work five days and 25% of weeks work 5.5 days to help cover events and the daily golf operation.

The average in-season hours per week are 45 for our full-time Assistant Professional staff.

Meadowbrook Country Club is an up-scale private Country Club located in beautiful Ballwin, Missouri. Ballwin is located in west St.

Louis county approximately 25 minutes southwest of downtown St. Louis. The Club was founded in 1944 located in Overland.

A clubhouse fire in the late 50's prompted Club leadership to select the current site where the Club sits in Ballwin. The golf course was originally built by Robert Bruce Harris in 1960.

The golf course went under a major renovation in 1998 by Keith Foster. The course recently finished another renovation in 2021 by Kevin Hargrave, who is a Keith Foster associate.

The championship golf course is the crown jewel of Meadowbrook CC. The course is 7,195 yards from the back tees and plays to a slope rating of 145.

We have a skilled and sophisticated golfing membership. Meadowbrook hosts over a dozen scratch or plus handicap players and over fifty players with an index below 5.

0 and over 150 players with a single digit handicap index. The membership loves the layout and consistent excellent condition of the course and practice facilities.

They are passionate about the game of golf, and our staff is expected to match and exceed that level of passion.

The golf experience is a crucial element for the Club and its members and guests. The professional golf staff is expected to daily assist in the golf experience to ensure guests are greeted and assisted prior to their round, tee times stay on schedule, pace of play stays at or under the time limit, the practice facilities are fully stocked and professionally organized, the appearance of the golf shop is organized, clean and well-stocked.

Most importantly is the ability to be friendly, remember names, to strive for excellence in all things so our members and guests have their expectations exceeded on a consistent basis.

Experience Required

• Prior experience within a golf operation is preferred.
• Preference will go to the candidate who has played competitive golf and has a general knowledge of the rules and traditions of the game.
• High School diploma required and college degree preferred
• Preference to the candidate with prior experience working with individual or group golf instruction, and especially working with junior golfers.
• The candidate must be professional in appearance and how they present and conduct themselves. It's crucial to be friendly, enthusiastic, passionate to serve with a hunger to improve and advance within the golf industry.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist in the day to day operations of the golf department
• Assist in the execution of over 30 member golf events and 8 outside Monday golf outings
• Assist the Head Professional in the tracking of key department data including merchandising invoices, billing and invenory control.
• Assist with our player development programs with an emphasis on junior golf
• Assist in the receiving, check-in, pricing, displaying and selling of golf merchandise
• Assist in the checking in of golfers and charging the tee sheet for daily guest and cart fees
• Enthusiastically answering the phone and greetings members and guests inside and outside of the golf shop
• Serve as the play coordinator to ensure the tee sheet is on-time and marshalling for pace of play to keep the flow of the golf course on a four-hour and ten minute pace for 18 holes
• Oversee and work alongside outside operations to ensure the highest levels of service, engagement and decorum
• Assist the Thursday Senior Men's League to arrange tee times, print scorecards, manage their weekly games and post results / credits
• Assist the Head Professional and the other Professional staff members with other tasks and responsilbities to ensure the highest levels of member and guest satisfaction
