Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Information Technology Manager I (ITM I), the incumbent is responsible for the overall architecture, design, and support of a highly complex information technology enterprise infrastructure, and serves as a technical expert.

The incumbent demonstrates a high level of expertise and knowledge of environmental services technologies, including but not limited to, the roles of power distribution, HVAC, fire suppression, and network architecture within a data center.

Additionally, the incumbent is expected to demonstrate high-level knowledge of information technology operational services, information technology concepts, practices, methods, and principles.

The incumbent performs all functions in the role of project manager over small, medium, and complex information technology projects.

These projects must be delivered within tight timeframes, cost constraints, and high visibility. The incumbent provides both verbal, and written, communication to promote clear and common understanding, and appropriate information sharing.

The incumbent collects information and develops quality reports for project teams, executives, and stakeholders. The incumbent independently works on projects and assignments, performing a wide variety of tasks that require innovative planning and problem-solving.

The incumbent works in a team environment and interacts with various support teams within the Legislature, including clients / customers, local contractors, vendors, and regulatory entities.

The incumbent must demonstrate ethical behavior and work cooperatively with others. Core business hours are 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm, Monday through Friday, and the incumbent is expected to be available during core hours.

However, schedule may be adjusted and is contingent upon business needs. Extended hours on weekdays, weekends, and holidays are mandatory, and essential during peak times of the year.

Peak times are dependent on the Legislative session which is January through September. Therefore, the incumbent may be scheduled to work up to 7 days a week, and extended hours may not always be scheduled in advance.
