Information Security Systems Engineer 4 (General ISSE)
Description :
The Information Security System Engineers (ISSE) reside in the Security
Operations Control Center (SOCC). They are part of the Network Security
Engineering Team which supports managed network infrastructures for
federal government customers. The SOCC is a 24 / 7 / 365 operation that
requires shift rotations, weekend, after hours, or on-call support to meet
program requirements.
Responsibilities :
a. Act as primary engineering support to network security operations for the
testing and evaluation of new Security products and services.
b. Supervise the technical work of junior security engineers to perform
systems engineering design, testing and implementation of network
security infrastructure and services.
c. Perform lifecycle testing and operational support on Service Oriented
Architecture (SOA)-based security architectures to maintain compliance
with customer-tailored National Institute for Standards and Technology
NIST) security controls.
d. Perform enterprise security gateway access control, baseline configuration
management and system performance testing to ensure requirements
compliance.
e. Manage and maintain enterprise configuration and provide internal and
external (customer) tier 2 / 3 technical support for the following major
systems :
i. Web Application Firewall (WAF)
ii. Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
iii. Global and Local Load Balancer
iv. Next generation firewall
v. API Gateway
f. Develop, maintain and publish network security technical documentation
in accordance with Company Systems Engineering processes.
Required Qualifications :
a. Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT
Security or related field, and minimum 6 years related experience; or a
Masters' degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT Security
or related field, and minimum 4 years related experience.
b. Minimal of 4 years of experience in the network security engineering field
performing the specification, selection, evaluation, testing, deployment,
and operation of security devices including but not limited to Firewalls,
Routers, Switches, IDS, WAF, VPN technologies, etc.
c. Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
d. Ability to work onsite at Company offices located in Melbourne, Florida.
Remote work is not possible.
e. Ability to support On call schedule rotations. On call requires this
candidate to report onsite with a response time of one hour maximum.
f. Ability to support shift rotations and different schedules which may include
day, weekend, evening, or overnight shifts.
g. Ability to travel to disaster recovery site and support as needed.
4. Preferred Additional Qualification
a. Experience in application and compliance of customer tailored NIST and
FISMA controls and policies.
b. Experience collecting system logs and event data and performing
engineering analysis to determine system security function, performance,
and compliance.
c. Experience developing, configuring, and maintaining Linux and Windows
Operating Systems (OS).
d. Prior FAA telecommunications and network security experience is a plus.
e. CompTIA Security+ certification.
f. CCNA or CISSP certification.
