Job Details
- 13 week Post-Partum RN contract
- Nurse : Patient Ratios : 1 : 2-3 couplets, 1 : 3-4 surgical / medical
- Common diagnoses / Types of patients : postpartum vaginal and c-section deliveries, hysterectomy, bladder repairs, mastectomies
- Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Procardia, labetalol, pitocin, TXA, cytotec, methergine, hemabate, cervidil
- Charge Nurse to take assignments, and goes to deliveries to do APGARS
- Clerk and occasional nurse techs that are nursing students
- RT Equipment : Supplemental nasal cannula
- 2- 12 hour shifts on the unit orientation
Job Requirements
- BLS, NRP, Stable required
- 3 years of experience
- ok with first time travelers
- Travelers are expected to jump right in
- Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
- RN do not read tele, should be able to place the patches in the correct places
Schedule Information
- Rotational 7a-7p, 7p-7a, done 6 weeks in advance
- Manager to make the schedule, will work with block scheduling
- Every third weekend
- Holiday Requirements : As Needed
Unit Specific Information
of Postpartum beds : 12 postpartum, 8 surgical
of Births per day? Month? Year? Annually 643
- OB / Neonatologist in-house 24 / 7 : OB On call 24 / 7, Neo on call 24 / 7 NNP here overnight
- Floating Requirements : Will float to NICU to care for feeder-grower neonates and MS / PEDS (will consider with no MS / Peds exp)
- Scrub Color / Dress code : any color scrub
Additional Details
- Attributes that help make a nurse successful in this unit include being outgoing, an active learner, and good interpersonal skills
- Radius Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.
- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
