About The Position
Job Title : Sterile Processing Technician Job Specialty : Sterile Process Tech Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum of 1-3 years exp.
required; Certified for a minimum of 1 year License : Certified Sterile Processing Technician Certifications : CBSPD, CRCST / HSPA (Required), AHA BLS (must not be within 30 days of expiration) Must-Have : Dental tray experience- Decontamination experience - Manual, Mechanical, HLD, experience using facilities equipment- Assembly experience - Care and handling of medical devices, equipment, and instruments- General instrumentation, Laparoscopic instruments, Flexible endoscope experience- Sterilization experience - Steam & Low-Temperature Sterilization- Experience with facility-specific equipment Job Description : Prepare and deliver clean and sterilized instruments and equipment for medical examinations, surgeries, and clinical procedures- Sterilize, wrap, organize, and prepare medical equipment and surgical instruments into instrument trays- Lay out surgical gloves and gowns before each medical procedure- Collect and manually clean used and contaminated medical equipment, supplies, and instruments for sorting and decontamination- Prepare and pack decontaminated medical tools and supplies for sterilization- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment- Examine supplies meticulously to ensure cleanliness- Check and report any problems or issues with sterilization equipment, requesting replacements when necessary- Maintain records of sterilization procedures, equipment maintenance, and supply inventory- Reorder medical and surgical supplies, control the inventory, and check expiration dates of products- Properly remove and dispose of medical waste- Additional experience with pediatric patients and equipment such as Arthrex, Steris, Olympus, is highly desired- Preferred certifications include CER (HSPA) Endoscope Reprocessor Certification and CIS (HSPA) or CSIS (CBSPD) Instrument Specialist Certification
