Immediate need for a talented Senior Business Systems Analyst. This is a 06+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Chicago, IL (Hybrid).

Pay Range : $70 - $80 / hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Requirements and Technology Experience :

• Must Have Skills : Business Analysis, COTS software, JAD Sessions
• Understand Business Needs : Work closely with different business units to understand the Bank’s strategies, processes, and roadmaps.
• Gain in-depth knowledge of the context in which the business and IT operate.

• Develop detailed requirements.
• Support technical designs and process improvements.
• Elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate business / user requirements. Stakeholder Collaboration :
• Translate business needs and end-user requirements into functional specifications.
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Communication Skills :
• Participate in various SCRUM team meetings with business, management, IT, and senior leadership.
• Ensure user stories meet the INVEST principle and definition of ready. User Stories :
• Perform complex professional business analysis and application development duties. Business Analysis :
• Elicit complex business requirements through JAD sessions with business and technology stakeholders.
• Write detailed specifications of requested system changes. Documentation :
• Write data specifications, release notes, user guides, and other deliverables as needed.
• Assist with creation and refinement of design (mockup) on new functionality. Design and Development :
• Develop and execute data mapping plans for conversions and migrations.
• Suggest software and process improvements. Software and Process Improvements :
• Implement and integrate COTS software solutions to support proprietary processes.
• Write queries to analyze business data for decision-making and ad hoc reporting. Data Analysis :
• Familiarity with financial systems is a plus. Financial Systems :
• Understand the software development process using SDLC methodologies (Waterfall / Scrum). SDLC Methodology :
• Familiar with automated project management and documentation tools (e.g., flowcharting, data modeling, Excel, UI design, Visio).

Project Management Tools :

Familiar with techniques and tools for modeling system diagrams, business processes, functional processes, and interfaces.

System Diagrams and Business Processes :

• Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems. Collaboration :
• Identify and resolve business systems issues.
• Work with business team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals. Requirements and Goals :
• Ensure applications meet business requirements and systems goals.
• Participate in planning relevant project, enhancement, and maintenance activities. Project Participation :
• Develop and maintain business domain knowledge.
• Understand and apply relevant Bank policies, standards, and procedures. Bank Policies and Standards :
• Demonstrate adherence to IT principles and critical thinking.
• Assist in software releases and roll-outs. Software Releases and Upgrades :
• Perform software improvements and upgrades.
• Perform code deployments and releases.
• Complete all tasks with a focus on quality. Quality Focus :
• Meet or exceed established SLOs.
• Provide guidance to less experienced team members. Team Guidance :
• Collaborate with different areas of IT and the business to provide solutions.
• Build rapport and elicit problem details from customers. Customer Support :
• Provide timely reports on project status and issues to management and business units.
• Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting. Troubleshooting :
• Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and FAQ resources to aid in problem resolution.
• Promote Understanding : Work to promote an understanding of business processes and systems.
