Executive Director of Assessment and Data Analytics
Key Responsibilities :
- Supports divisional staff to assist in supporting departmental assessment needs in addition to serving as a point of contact for university staff to determine their information needs.
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data related to student learning outcomes, student engagement, retention, and success.
- Collaborate with university stakeholders to identify key performance indicators and metrics that assess the effectiveness of student services, programs, and initiatives.
- Provide expert consultation and support to departments in designing surveys, focus groups, and other assessment tools to measure student needs, satisfaction, and program effectiveness.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior leadership and other stakeholders to inform policy, strategic planning, and resource allocation.
- Stay current with national trends in higher education assessment and data analytics, implementing best practices and emerging technologies.
- Supervise and mentor a team of assessment and data analytics professionals, providing guidance in data analysis, report writing, and visualization.
- Collaborate with institutional research, IT, and academic affairs to ensure integration of student affairs data with broader institutional data systems.
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive assessment strategy for all departments within the Division of Student Affairs, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.
- Manages team and oversees the analytics lifecycle for Student Affairs for both division-wide and individual departmental support, including data collection, preparation, advanced analysis, and modeling.

Essential Functions

- Assists in establishing data collection best practice standards and reporting requirements. Ensures compliance with best practice processes and standards.
Leads the design, deployment, and maintenance of data models, dashboards, and visualizations.
Serves as a point of contact for internal customers and University staff to determine their information needs. Monitors data quality and accuracy.
Resolves complex issues.
Remains current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Provides recommendations on the potential application of new technologies and processes within the University.

Office Work : Most tasks are performed in an office setting, including meetings, data analysis, and report writing. This involves sitting for extended periods.
Meetings : Regular meetings with teams, stakeholders, and leadership may require moving around within the office or attending off-site meetings within the university.
Presentations : Preparing and delivering presentations may involve standing and speaking in front of groups, which can require some physical stamina.
