Lead Designer

Description

GAI Consultants, Inc is seeking a Lead Designer within our PA Transportation Business Unit to work out of our Cranberry Township or Homestead Borough offices.

The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment that will utilize their technical skills and related work experience to maintain computer-aided design (CAD) filing structures and develop detailed, high-quality construction plans.

Responsibilities Include :

• Knowledgeable in MicroStation with the familiarity of roadway design software such as InRoads and OpenRoads Designer desired.
• Interacts with engineers and clients to develop CAD models and engineering drawings to support projects within the Transportation Business Unit and other teams within GAI as required.
• Responsible for the creation of 3D CAD software models and detailed drawings.
• Assists engineers with hands-on troubleshooting eorts and eld investigations (occasional travel to project sites required up to 10%).
• Develops layouts, engineering drawings, drawing details, and assembles drawings as required.
• Performs maintenance of CAD les in response to engineering changes.
• Interfaces with other engineers to verify that data pertaining to project specifications is documented accurately.

Qualification : Education

Education

Associates Degree or equivalent work experience required

Experience

• 10+ Years of relevant work experience
• Knowledgeable in MicroStation.
• Familiarity of roadway design software such as InRoads and OpenRoads Designer preferred.
• Familiarity of Bentley ProjectWise collaboration software preferred.
• Performs work under minimal supervision.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• State DOT experience is a plus.
