The Pentagon, Washington, DC (100% On-site) 90K - 100K - Full Time with Benefits

As the Help Desk Specialist, you will provide support for the Joint Staff Knowledge Management / Decision Support (KM / DS) management tool. You will be responsible for on-site and remote help desk duties to address end user requests for assistance, questions, concerns, and problems via telephone, in-person, and e-mail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high level functional and IT analysis.
  • Design, develop, integrate, and document assistance on problems, which require a thorough knowledge of the technical subject matter for effective system deployment.
  • Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and / or applications development to restore service and / or identify and correct core problem.
  • Simulate or recreate end user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
  • Recommend system modifications to reduce end user problems.
  • Respond to telephone calls, email, and personnel requests for technical support.
  • Document, track, and monitor the problem to ensure a timely resolution.
  • Perform system backups and recovery.
  • Maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity.

To Qualify, You Will Need

  • DOD Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelors' degree from an accredited college or university with a curriculum or major field of study in computer science, information systems plus three (3) years of task related experience; OR an Associates' degree from a college or university with a curriculum or major field of study in computer science, information systems plus six (6) years task related experience; OR an applicable training certificate issued in accordance with guidelines provided by the software vendor (i.e. Microsoft MCSE / MCSA, Oracle DBA) from an accredited training institution plus ten (10) years of task related experience.
  • CompTIA Security+CE or equivalent IAT II certification
