Job Description
The Heavy Equipment Operator / Mechanic is responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Heavy equipment may include wheel loaders, excavators; skid steers; and other heavy equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, inspect, and secure all equipment and perform minor preventative and other maintenance on his / her equipment.
This position requires mechanical assistance with heavy equipment and other equipment.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and all company policies and procedures.
- Perform and document daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Perform minor preventative and other maintenance.
- Required to work alongside of mechanics as well as alone on equipment.
- Clean equipment as scheduled or necessary.
- Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
This position requires the ability to work overtime and include weekends. Pay : $27.57 / hr
Qualifications
Basic Required Qualifications :
- 5+ years of experience in soil moving, and soil processing operations
- Experience in using a wheel loader, dozer, excavator, skid steer loaders, and / or other heavy equipment
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications :
- Mechanical ability is a must.
- Good work ethic, self-motivated
Physical and Mental Demands
- Willing and able to work outdoors in all climate conditions
- Ability to work in a busy, often distracting work environment.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted on an occasional basis.
- Ability to sit, stand and walk (with or without accommodations) for long periods of time.
