Overview of the Cost Accountant Role :
As a Cost Accountant , you will be responsible for :
- Managing cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory levels.
- Overseeing month-end close processes, including :
- Tracking materials and labor costs.
- Identifying and analyzing variances.
- Processing journal entries for accurate financial reporting.
- Supporting the team in monitoring production costs and maintaining cost control.
- Collaborating with the finance team to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications for the Cost Accountant :
- 5+ years of experience as a Cost Accountant in a similar industry.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, especially in manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with financial reporting systems such as :
- Sage
- JD Edwards
- Fortress
- Experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Manufacturing industries is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
