We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. This Contract to permanent opportunity is ideal for an individual with a strong background in payroll management and general accounting practices. The role requires expertise in QuickBooks Online, along with a thorough understanding of financial processes and compliance regulations. Responsibilities :

  • Process payroll accurately and efficiently using QuickBooks Online Payroll, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage payroll-related functions, including tax filings, employee benefits, and deductions.
  • Prepare and record journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Generate financial statements and reports to support management in decision-making processes.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.
  • Provide documentation and support during audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Identify and implement improvements in accounting and payroll processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to address financial and payroll-related inquiries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, including the payroll module.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with payroll regulations and tax compliance requirements.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel with the ability to work with complex datasets, formulas, and pivot tables.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
