power generation and / or metallurgical / mineral process industries.
Compensation $120,000-$160,000

Summary : This position involves comprehensive support across all project phases, with a specific focus on detailed engineering tasks.
The incumbent will serve as the lead electrical engineer for projects, responsible for coordination and ensuring effective communication with other engineering disciplines.
Reporting : Administratively, this role reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager. Within project structures, the position reports to the discipline lead engineer and / or the project manager / project engineer.
Responsibilities :
- Develop electrical power systems engineering deliverables, including one-line, three-line, schematic and connections drawings, cabling and grounding systems, and related documents.
- Size and select electrical equipment, develop specifications and data sheets.
- Design lighting, lightning protection, grounding systems, and cable tray systems, including conduit sizing, wire sizing, and motor specifications.
- Review electrical shop drawings and data, liaising with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, and designers.
- Prepare construction drawing and specification packages.
Education, Skills, and Experience :
Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering with a minimum of 10 years' experience in petrochemical, oil & gas, power generation, and / or metallurgical / mineral process industries.
A Master of Science degree is advantageous.
- Proficient in leading quality management of discipline work processes and deliverables.
- Ability to conduct power system studies, including short circuit, load flow, protective coordination, and arc flash using software tools (e.
g., SKM, ETAP, EasyPower).
- Experience in specifying large electrical apparatus including transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, and power conditioning equipment.
- Expertise in protective relaying design is desirable.
- Experience in conducting area classification assessments, interpreting relevant codes (e.g., API, NFPA), and developing engineering designs consistent with area classification requirements.
- Familiarity with applicable model codes addressing electrical design / engineering (e.g., NFPA, NEMA, IEEE, IEC).
- Previous consulting experience is highly preferred.
Certifications, Credentials, Licenses & Registrations :
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required, with the ability to register with NCEES and in other States of company practice.
- Eligibility for or possession of a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) is required.
