Quality Engineer
About the job :
The Quality Engineer is responsible for designing and documenting quality requirements for new
Product development and continually improving existing requirements. He / She will be a single point contact with customer for providing quality related documentation to customers.
The ideal candidate is a details-oriented person and has hands-on experience with documenting quality requirements.
Necessary skills :
- APQP, PPAP, FMEA, FAI, Gage R&R, Capability Study, Inspection Instructions and Procedures and Balloon Drawings.
- Must be a power user of MS Office and Outlook and understand GD&T.
- Experience with Minitab and deep understanding of applied statistics as a problem-solving tool is a
- big plus.
- Multitasker that can manage multiple projects concurrently, while documenting and communicating formal project plans.
- Engineer will be able to test, and install newly developed systems, inspection procedures and train appropriate employees.
- He / she will be able to provide technical support to manufacturing and tool design engineers to help proactively improve process efficiency starting at the beginning of new product development.
- Must be familiar with lean manufacturing and work cell design and functionality.
Required :
- BS degree in engineering (ME or IE or EE or Chem. E or QE).
- Ideally Six Sigma Black Belt and / or CQE certification.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in a metal industry.
- Extensive experience dealing directly with customers and do presentations.
- Solid experience with creating quality documentation.
- Must work well on a continuous improvement team, as well as be self-motivated and
- independent when necessary.
