A company is looking for a Coding Specialist with HCS-D Certification.
Key Responsibilities
Review medical records to assign appropriate International Classification of Disease codes
Adhere to official coding guidelines and select principal diagnoses according to CMS definitions
Consult with clinicians for clarification on ambiguous documentation and provide coding education as needed
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
Must have HCS-D Certification and maintain it annually
Experience as a Clinician or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) is required
One year of coding experience is preferred
Familiarity with coding and classification systems is necessary
Must follow outlined workflows and meet productivity standards post-orientation
