Director Of Financial Planning & Analysis, Commercial
The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, Commercial will lead comprehensive financial planning and analysis for the Commercial organization, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, and reporting on critical cost drivers including labor, commissions, and operating expenses across Sales, Marketing, Government Relations & Strategy, Business Development, and Managed Care functions. Serving as a trusted business partner to Commercial leaders and Corporate FP&A teams, this role will deliver strategic financial insights and analysis to drive organizational performance, optimize resource allocation, and support data-driven decision-making that advances the Commercial organization's strategic objectives and operational excellence.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities :
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for the Commercial organization
- Develop detailed cost models for labor, commissions, and other operating expenses for each Commercial department and sales region
- Partner with colleagues in Commercial finance to translate growth projections to impacts on commission expenses
- Collaborate with HR and Sales Ops to align headcount and compensation plans with financial targets
Reporting & Analysis
Deliver timely and accurate monthly reporting on actuals vs budget / forecastAnalyze variances and provide actionable insights to Commercial leadershipEstablish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity and ROI and compare trends across regions and over timeBusiness Partnership
Serve as the primary finance liaison to Commercial leaders on all Commercial costsSupport annual and quarterly sales commission planning and goal setting processesSupport strategic initiatives such as territory planning, incentive design, and go-to-market investmentsProvide scenario modeling and ad hoc analysis to support decision-makingCorporate Planning
Own the consolidated view of Commercial costs for corporate planningPartner with Corporate FP&A to ensure alignment with company-wide financial goalsContribute to board-level presentations and executive reportingPromote the mission, vision, and values of the organizationDevelop and maintain working knowledge of current products and services offered by the companyMaintain patient confidentiality and function within the guidelines of HIPAA.Complete assigned compliance training and other educational programs as requiredMaintain compliance with AdaptHealth's Compliance ProgramPerform other related duties as assignedCompetency, Skills and Abilities :
Strong understanding of sales compensation structures and operating expense managementAdvanced excel and financial modeling skills; experience with planning tools (e.g., Oracle EPM)Excellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a proactive and collaborative mindsetInitiative; originate productive actions without specific instructions; generate new ideas, processes, and approaches to meet business needs.Self-reliant, good problem solver and results oriented. Bachelor's Degree is required with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field. MBA preferred8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, preferably with familiarity supporting a Sales functionPhysical Demands and Work Environment :
