SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Accounting and Accounts Payable functions, including staff management / development, the month end close process, and completion of various recurring monthly assignments, including reviewing and approving journal entries, bank reconciliations, financial statement preparation, review of accounts payable entries, as well as assisting with state, city, and local business licenses and taxes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following :
Employee must have regular attendance / punctuality, be able to work with others at all levels of the Company. Other assigned duties include :
1. In conjunction with the Controller, manage the monthly financial close including the preparation, posting and review of journal entries, performing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, executing monthly controls, and producing monthly reports.
2. Assist in managing the annual financial audit at the tactical level ensuring audit deliverables are submitted timely and the overall audit timeline remains on track.
3. Provide leadership, training, and development for the accounting team.
4. Assist with the accounts payable process cycle including transaction review and approval, along with the application of company policy.
5. Prepare, manage, and file city / local business taxes and gross receipts-based business licenses.
6. Analyze and report monthly variances in revenue and expense during the month-end close process.
7. Act as point person for Company and / or department projects.
8. Follow up on inquires and address questions or concerns from State GMs in a timely manner.
9. Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible in changing priorities.
10. Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will supervise the two senior accountants and the one staff accountant. There are currently three direct reports that would be assigned to this position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field and five or more years of related experience; Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field or work toward applicable licensure (CPA, CMA) may be considered in lieu of a portion of the experience requirement.
Preferred :
Experience with Oracle NetSuite software. Strong skillset in MS Excel and other MS Office products.
