Duties

and Responsibilities :

Assessment :

Collect and analyze post-graduation career outcome data in accordance with NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) standards and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.

This includes developing and administering a First Destination Survey to collect student data at events, online, and over the phone.

  • Administer assessment of the Career Readiness Program for undergraduate students integrating career competencies into the framework.
  • Develop and implement assessment strategies for Career Center initiatives such as individual counseling, workshops, events, online resources, and other programs.
  • Create measurable, desired student learning outcomes with staff members for their respective programs and initiatives.
  • Use assessment frameworks to improve engagement of technology resources and marketing strategies.
  • Obtain Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval for applicable Career Center projects.
  • Administer focus groups and surveys to identify the career development needs of students and alumni and make recommendations for strategic initiatives and programming.
  • Prepare Career Development Center assessment findings for presentation in written, verbal, and electronic formats, including printed and published materials.
  • Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Communications and Assessment, create reports communicating outcomes, trends, research and data to campus partners such as the Provost’s Office, Deans, and Student Affairs.
  • Participate on committees as needed, sharing outcomes and data with campus partners.

Data Management and Analysis :

  • Develop and manage data collection, storage, reporting, and analysis protocols to measure engagement, evaluate goals and assess outcomes.
  • Provides ongoing reports to leadership that interpret collected data using both appropriate research / evaluation methods and data collection techniques.
  • Extract, manipulate, and combine data directly from primary and secondary sources using multiple technologies including Qualtrics, Salesforce, Handshake, Tableau Prep (or similar).
  • Analyzes and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets. Interprets data and analyses using statistical techniques and data visualization software.
  • Analyzes engagement data to assist in data-informed decisions to improve user experience of marketing, technology, and service delivery initiatives.
  • Determine best practices for disseminating career data across all campus partners, such as Alumni Relations, Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of the Provost, and individual school leaders.
  • Assist with managing the relationship between the Career Center and the Office of Institutional Research. This includes exchanging data and ideas for research projects and looking for ways to improve data collection techniques across campus.
  • Serve as the office liaison to other campus offices in collaboration with the Associate Director as partnerships are developed and strategies are defined.

Supervision :

  • Exercise direct supervision over the Design and Technology Engagement Coordinator.
  • Guide a data-informed approach to improving direction of user experience, marketing and engagement of technology, and Career Center resources.
  • Play a pivotal role in the implementation, maintenance, and budget of office technologies and vendor products.

General Support :

  • Represent the university at relevant events with external constituents, professional associations, and career and workforce development initiatives.
  • Encourages updated policies and procedures to maintain Career Center professionalism and to best serve constituents.

Job Requirements :

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. An Associate’s Degree and one additional year of work experience may substitute for Bachelor’s degree, at the rate of two years of education is equivalent to one year of work experience.
  • 2 years training and / or experience in statistical research methods and data analysis required.
  • Strong background in technical or quantitative fields.
  • Demonstrated strength in interpersonal skills to work with a diverse body of students, staff faculty, administrators and community members.
  • Relevant combinations of skills and experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Advanced Degree in higher education, relevant social science, analytics, or related field.
  • Exposure to academic / administrative assessment and demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of assessment and evaluation processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct large-scale database analysis and survey research in an applied setting, including development of instruments, creation of meaningful variables, sampling, content and timing.
  • Superior writing skills to present complex data and information to a variety of audiences, from career services and university colleagues to students, parents, and the general public.
  • Advanced technical literacy in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets, Qualtrics, DBMS, SQL, Tableau, Salesforce, R, SPSS.
  • Experience working with an Institutional Review Board or similar entity
  • Experience in managing staff or student workers
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and implement projects with complex logistics involving multiple tasks and priorities using a project management software (Notion, Asana, or similar).

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to be self-directed

  • Strong attention to detail with inputting and managing information
  • Knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
