SUMMARY :

The role of a quality control technologist is to verify that the organization's products and services meet industry and government standards.

The position's responsibilities include the inspection of ingredients, in-process and finished goods materials and the tabulation and input of test results into designated locations.

Overall, the role of Quality Control technologist is extremely important. Through diligence, you ensure the final products that emerge from a company's machines are safe for the customer and end user.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Performs Process Verification Production Control
• Performs Laboratory and Analytical Services
• Performs Incoming Material Inspection As Needed Materials Control
• Develops, Implements, and Trains on Requirements for Outbound Truck Conditions Prior to Loading
• Completes All Product Testing Process Control
• Performs Quality Production Data Analysis and Statistics Process Control (SPQDC)
• Participates in Non-Conformance Materials / Deviation Process
• Conducts Daily Product Reviews
• Performs Calibration Activities Equipment Control
• Provides Suggestions for QC Specific Training Instructions.
• Ensures the HACCP CCPs are checked, documented, and reports any abnormality to the Quality Control Lead.
• Communicates any quality related production abnormality to the Quality Control Lead.
• Ensures products and documentations required for the daily review panels are organized and ready for daily morning reviews.
• Supports the QC Lead in other areas as may be assigned.

Qualifications :

Education and / or Experience :

• BS degree in Food science or related field desired
• If no degree, must have some level of food or pet food manufacturing experience.
• Certification in SQF a plus but not required.
• Certification in HACCP a plus but not required.
• Certification in Internal Audit a plus but not required.
• Limited Problem-Solving training a plus

Computer and Technology Skills :

• Efficient use of MS Office Suite is required.
• Proficient in data analysis.

Language Skills :

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

German language speaking skills is another advantage.

Mathematical Skills :

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as : fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
