A leading product development company is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop mechanical components and systems.
The ideal candidate possesses a solid background in mechanical design and expertise in 3D modeling and drafting. Working collaboratively, the new team member will promote operational excellence by ensuring designs meet specifications and quality standards while supporting manufacturing, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and resolving design challenges with innovative solutions.
Salary + Additional Benefits :

Responsibilities :
- Design connector / assemblies tooling, utilizing Solidworks requiring 3D modeling and creating drawings.
- Design concept proposal from sketches and rough designs provided by sales and / or client. Prepare / assist quotations.
- Review specifications and design to meet fit, form, and function of components.
- Assist sales team, including representing the company at customer visits and conferences when needed.
- Assist sales team by researching for new business opportunities.
- Ensure prototypes are manufactured to specification and pass all testing and QC.
- Provide support in manufacturing and supervise project development.
- Learn and operate injection molding machines and CNC as needed.
- Connector design, including injection molding, machining, fabbing, and other design work as assigned. PEEK and rubber molding / overmolding.
- Design injection molded components from concept sketches and rough designs provided by sales and / or client.
- Design connectors, analyze, thoroughly check, and detail all designs for manufacturing and assembly.
- Ensure accurate fabrication of molds, tooling, and dies.
- Manage buy-out items.
- Review specifications and design to meet fit, form, and function of component(s).
- Prepare quotations and / or assist sales in preparing quotation.
- Represent the company at customer visits as required.
- Resolve problems in new and existing designs with innovative and cost-effective solutions
- Independently look for cost-saving opportunities in new and existing products.
- Work in a safe and conscientious manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree required
- BSME or equivalent experience
- Design engineer, mechanical preferred
- Finite Element Analysis and experience with Solidworks, AutoCAD desired
- Thorough knowledge of tolerancing
- Ability and willingness to take ownership of projects, ability to get the job done with minimal supervision
