We're seeking a Building Maintenance Technician with diverse skills and an eye for the details for our three motels in the Marina del Rey / Venice / Santa Monica / Culver City.
In this role, you will be responsible for basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude, and a never-ending desire to fix things the right way.
Duties
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the property and building systems
- Accept prioritized daily work assignments from the general manager and front desk clerks
- Report inspection, maintenance, and repair work in a building maintenance journal
- Provide all motel staff with physical assistance (extra hand) with their work duties as needed
- Highly physical cleaning (e.g. carpet shampooing, gutter clearing)
Qualifications
- 4+ years’ work experience
- Licensed to drive in California
- Utilize self-owned truck and tools
- Independent problem solver
- Responsible and conscientious
- Punctual and dependable
- On-going Saturday and Sunday availability
- Strong knowledge and skills in the following building systems : water supply plumbing, drain plumbing, painting / drywall / plastering / finishing, electrical lighting, outlets, fixtures, switches and dimmers, gutters, roof drains, waterproofing
- Strong knowledge and skills in at least 3 of the following building systems; in-room AC and electrical heating, building water heaters, electrical and wiring, landscape irrigation, flooring (vinyl plank, tile), and / or carpentry is a plus!
- English speaking
- Spanish speaking a plus!
- Well-organized, detail-oriented

- Wage range from $25 / hr to $30 / hr depending on experience and capability
- Mileage reimbursement at IRS standard mileage rate
